ROTF DS GamesToys R Us is presently offering discounts on all Transformers DS games.

Buy one Transformers DS game, and get the second for $10. This makes for a great opportunity to purchase both of the new ROTF DS games that have just been released for $40 total instead of the usual $60 ($30 each).

This promotion applies to Transformers games on the DS, not specifically ROTF, so presumably this could be used to purchase games from the first movie as well as the recently released Animated game.

TCA member Rich happened upon this new, found at TheTransformers.net :

Bay Leaves Transformers?

by Big Bot on June 18, 2009

In a surprise move, it seems Transformers and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen director Michael Bay has decided to leave the franchise and not do a third movie.

It does seem weird that Michael would quit only months after saying he would simply be taking a break before doing Transformers 3 in 2012. It’s also interesting that he mentions it a day before the first public opening in the UK.

The most shocking thing about his interview with wenn.com (via IMDB) is that he will be doing something different: “I need to do something totally divergent, something without any explosions.” He also goes on to comment on reviewers, “It’s easy to go shoot an art movie in a winery in the South of France. But people have no idea how hard it is to create something like Transformers. They (the critics) review me before they’ve even seen the movie.” Don’t worry Michael, we liked it.

So fans, think back to 2006 and start deciding who you would love to direct the next installment of Transformers.

Truth or more does misinformation continue post-ROTF? Discuss it here.

Robot Heroes "I am Optimus Prime" Review

I am Optimus PrimeTCA UK member Rich has found a copy of the new children's book Robot Heroes: I am Optimus Prime at a retail outlet. Rich shared with us the following review:

OK, this is a very simple book, more aimed at very young fans who are learning to read [...] and want to be independent. The artwork is very nice, [and] the story is a very simple telling of the war between the Autobots and the Decepticons and why they came to earth.

The character designs are based upon the successful figurine line of Transformers known as Robot Heroes (basically the models that move about a little and are designed to look really cute, but not transform).

That is all I can really say about this book. If you're an adult fan of TF, it's a relatively quick read. This [book is] best suited for younger fans and is told [from the perspective of] Optimus Prime. I hope that helps you in [deciding] whether or not to buy this book.

If you're a TF fan with young children, this may be the book to buy for teaching your kids how read with style
